Sarah Rea

Sarah Rea is a Christchurch based writer, English and drama teacher, and businesswoman born and raised in Te Waipounamu, the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. She studied a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Political Science at Canterbury University and completed Honours degrees in both English Literature and in Theatre and Film Studies.  

Sarah has written theatre scripts for student and local theatre, including ‘Ectopia’, performed at the Sydney University Theatre Fest and invited to perform at Melbourne University, and ‘Seedgrown’ written in collaboration with New Zealand composer Eric Biddington. Sarah has a passion for books, films, theatre and poetry, and her writing explores identity, our connection with nature, and what it is to be humane, inspired and hopeful in a modern world. She is currently writing a Dystopian Fantasy series. 

Sarah lives with her husband and three daughters and in her spare time she reads, walks in the hills surrounding her home, grows wildflowers and thinks regularly about getting a puppy.
