Noè Harsel
Noè Harsel is an arts producer, executive leader, writer and podcaster. Currently the Museum Director & CEO of the Jewish Museum of Australia: Gandel Centre of Judaica, Noè has written for, among others, the Melbourne Magazine, Broadsheet and the AFI Magazine. She has lectured across Australian history, cultural studies and architecture, and created and developed exhibitions and programs across numerous Australian institutions.
Previously Noè was Chair at Writers Victoria, and is the creator and host of the podcast, Why Write, asking writers why they write. She also created and hosts an online writing space, Live Write, giving a twice-weekly space for creative expression and writing, with participants from across Australia and the world. Her current podcast, Like Us, now in its second season and broadcast with SBS, discusses race, identity and culture in Australia.
Born in the US, she grew up in Melbourne and is a mix of Japanese, Jewish, Polish and Russian ethnicities.
