Nick Place

Nick Place is an award-winning writer and journalist who has been writing for longer than some people have been alive, although, if you think about it, that’s true of all authors. Nick works as a journalist, content creator and editor across all media, from newspapers and magazines to radio, TV, and the amazing electrical interweb.

Nick is the author of five popular published novels, including several celebrated and internationally published children’s novels and the acclaimed adult crime book Roll With It. He has also penned several short stories, poetry, film and even a sell-out musical comedy stage show.

Most recently, Nick is the writer and co-author of the enthusiastically reviewed and triple-Australian best-selling Stalin's Wine Cellar (Penguin Books). A cracking adventure of a lifetime to buy Stalin’s secret million dollar wine cellar located in Georgia, north of Russia, Nick’s book was hailed by The Australian as “A twisting, true tale of vinous espionage that brings more than a splash of Fleming or Forsythe to the wine-book realm” and “The ultimate wine-meets-history tale” - Gourmet Traveller.

Stalin’s Wine Cellar was published into France, Belgium, Romania, Estonia, Hungary and China and is optioned for screen.

Nick has won several awards for journalism, and none for ice hockey, at which he is an honest trier, at best. He lives in Melbourne and works in his day job as an impact storyteller for philanthropy and charities, all the while wondering why Hollywood hasn’t called yet.
