Joanne Fedler

Joanne Fedler is the author of 17 books, an entrepreneur, CEO, publisher, educator, mentor, activist and speaker. Her books have sold over 750,000 copies worldwide and have been translated into several languages.

Joanne graduated with a Masters in Law from Yale in 1994. Her awards include a Fulbright scholarship and Asshole of the Month by Hustler magazine for her activism against violent pornography. She’s been writing stories since she was six years-old, waking early to the injustices of racism in Apartheid South Africa and discrimination of the disabled (her older sister is deaf), Joanne took the long road of law as a women’s rights activist before writing her first novel, The Dreamcloth (Story Solutions 2021) was published in 2005.

She is an immigrant to Australia, mother to two young adults and an open-water ocean swimmer.

Joanne’s 16th novel, The Whale’s Last Song published with HarperCollins Australia in October 2024.

Her memoir, Bring Us Home From Sorrow : A Love Letter is an intimate portrait of losing a mother and the ways we are kept apart from those we love by distance, disease and death. It will publish with Gininderra Press in March 2026.
