Joanne Fedler

Joanne Fedler is the author of 15 books, an entrepreneur, CEO, publisher, educator, mentor, activist and speaker. She graduated with a Masters in Law from Yale in 1994. Her awards include a Fulbright scholarship and Asshole of the Month by Hustler magazine for her activism against violent pornography. She’s been writing stories since she was six years-old, waking early to the injustices of racism in Apartheid South Africa and discrimination of the disabled (her older sister is deaf). She took the long road of law as a women’s rights activist before her first novel, The Dreamcloth was published in 2005. Her books have sold over 750,000 copies worldwide and have been translated into several languages. In 2018 she set up Story Solutions Pty Ltd and her own publishing imprint, Joanne Fedler Media. She has created three signature online courses including 7 Tricks to Writing Your Story, The Author Awakening Adventure and Write Your First Draft Masterclass. Her course Writing As Medicine for the Soul is available on the Insight Timer app. Her novel Things Without A Name has been optioned by Bunya Productions for a six part TV mini-series. She is an immigrant to Australia; mother to two young adults and an open-water ocean swimmer.
