Claudine Tinellis

Claudine Tinellis is a Sydney-based author, podcaster and presenter/moderator. A former corporate lawyer, Claudine ventured into the world of publishing in 2014 as the editor of Coastal Chef: The Culinary Art of Seaweed & Algae in the 21st Century (Harbour Publishing House). In the years since, Claudine has dedicated herself to writing fiction and finding varying ways to support the world of Australian literature.

In 2018, Claudine began Talking Aussie Books – a popular podcast bringing readers and writers of Australian fiction together. With more than 250 interviews conducted to date – episodes that feature international bestselling authors like Jane Harper, Michael Robotham, Fiona McIntosh, Chris Hammer, Shankari Chandran, Holly Ringland, Trent Dalton, Candice Fox and Sally Hepworth to name just some, Talking Aussie Books has become one of Australia’s most recognisable and well-regarded book podcasts.

With Claudine’s legal expertise along with experience, knowledge, contacts and understanding of the Australian literary scene, in 2019 she became a founding executive member of the Northern Beaches Readers Festival – a biennial festival held in Sydney’s beachside suburb of Avalon dedicated to showcasing Australian commercial fiction.

Then in 2023 Claudine was appointed the fiction category judge of the prestigious Woollahra Digital Literary Award.

When Claudine isn’t writing, reading or podcasting, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three (mostly) adult children and three dogs, hiking, drinking whisky, hosting book launches and facilitating at library events and literary festivals around the country (though, not necessarily in that order!).
