Brian Hartzer

Brian Hartzer is an experienced executive, leadership mentor and investor who is Chairman of ASX-listed Beforepay, and Reejig (an AI-based HR technology start-up). 

Brian is also a senior advisor to Quantium, a Sydney-based data science company, as well as an angel investor in and advisor to several fintech and technology start-ups.  He also serves as President (Chairman) of the Australian Museum Trust.   

Prior to his current roles, Brian was CEO of the Westpac Banking Group from 2015 to 2019. 

Before his time as Westpac’s CEO, Brian spent 15 years in senior executive roles at major banks in the UK and Australia.  

Brian graduated with a degree in European History from Princeton University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Brian’s book, The Leadership Star: A Practical Guide to Building Engagement published with Wiley in March 2021.

He holds dual US and Australian citizenship and lives in Sydney.
