Amy Coomer

Amy Coomer is a writer and actress based on the Gold Coast, with a growing portfolio across both the literary and film industries. In 2022, her debut young adult manuscript, Boys on a Train, was a finalist for the Leapfrog Press Global Fiction Prize, an international writing competition. Boys on a Train was released in 2023 and it quickly topped multiple Amazon bestseller lists, selling in 12 different countries. Beyond novel writing, Amy has a passion for screenwriting, with her most recent short film script being selected as a semi-finalist in the 2024 Australia Independent Film Festival. Her ongoing goal is to turn her written stories into films, combining her love of writing with her deep interest in visual storytelling. Amy’s earlier writing achievements include earning first place in the 2016 Queensland Independent Education Union Literary Competition, and being published in the 2013 Redlitzer Reader’s Anthology while at high school.
